Under the Sun

Meet the frontline
organizers fighting for
climate justice.
The world is facing an escalating climate crisis: ecosystems and communities are being pushed to the brink. Droughts, floods, wildfires, and extreme weather events are no longer a distant future - they’re happening now, with devastating consequences. Millions are being forced to confront an uncertain future.
In the summer of 2023, a group of young climate advocates from over 100 countries on the frontlines of climate change gathered in the mountains of Lebanon for a Climate Justice Camp. United by a shared urgency, they came to learn, organize, and fight for a more just and sustainable world.
This documentary is an intimate account of the rise of a new generation of leaders challenging systems of oppression and working together to transform the world around them.

“I remember being a child, running in the valleys, swimming in the river where my grandmother used to take me. A river that, unfortunately, does not exist anymore.”

Our Crisis
From Guyana to Nigeria, South Africa to the Philippines - communities in the Global South are caught in a struggle against corporate greed, environmental destruction, and systemic inequality. Whether it's oil extraction poisoning the land, ancestral territories being seized, or activists losing their lives for defending nature, the pattern is the same: powerful industries and governments prioritize profit over people.
Promises of development and progress mask the deepening poverty, pollution, and loss faced by ordinary citizens. These are not isolated issues but part of a larger global crisis - where the few benefit, and the many are left to pay the price of the climate catastrophe.
